Brokeback Mountain Tribute

Posted by Boy Wonder

My great love for this film inspired my addition of sound clips to the Gabriel & Dresden remix of the theme by Gustavo Santaolalla soon after it was released. In fact, when I completed the project it was featured here on Hazzard Ahead before we had the radio feature. A few days ago the track came on in my car and as usual the clips from the film conjured images in my head and it struck me that I should whip up a video to go along with. So I did. And here it is.

It’s My Life

Posted by Johnny

Today I’m heading up to Utah for a Valentine’s event and I just couldn’t leave without saying something, ANYthing on the blog since I’ve been so negligent lately. Sometimes you just fall out of the groove, you know? I was thinking about religion last night and how religious people kind of get a bad rap from all of the fanatics, but then I realized an entry about that would be a major endeavor so another Friday the 13th blog op was missed. And of course I have fuck all to say about love, which means a Valentine entry is out of the question. Don’t even get me started on this “holiday” or I’ll never make my plane. Let me just say in shorthand, “Why do we NEED a day to do things for those we love?”

Then it hit me! I have a fun little video we made just for kicks and I can use it to overshadow the fact that I don’t want to write a fucking thing! They will love it and I can ease my guilt for being such a rotten host! You see how that works?

We finished this video a while back and then forgot to post it. I had a great time in Fort Lauderdale with Miss Chi Chi LaRue. See for yourself.

The Distance Between Our Dreams

Posted by Johnny

When Ken Knox from Unzipped told me last month that he was doing a piece on Dean Monroe’s new single I quickly swept the information to the back of my brain.

Today someone commented on my music video on You Tube that he liked me, but liked Dean’s song much better than Deeper Into You. Naturally I had to investigate this for myself and dammit – Dean’s song IS really great!

Before writing this entry I decided I needed to research Dean a bit because as far as I know we’ve never met. And if we have it certainly wasn’t an encounter substantial enough for me to formulate an opinion of him. The last thing I want to do is promote someone only to later find out they’re a total jackass… or worse!

First of all, Dean lives in London so that’s a big plus. Second, he’s been in the business about as long as I have and he’s still going strong. Finally he seems very genuine and unaffected, which is a big bonus in this industry as far as I’m concerned. Oh yeah, and I think he has a beautiful singing voice so I certainly hope his album does well.

Can’t Just Sit Around

Posted by Johnny

To all of the people that have hounded me about doing another dance video over the past two years – it didn’t help. We are always thinking about a new dance video to do. I love to dance, that was never the problem, and Boy Wonder does most of the work so it really comes down to getting a location. And thanks to the nice people that he works with we were able to use a studio for just that purpose.

The lucky Hazzardites on my membership site got a sneak peek at this clip last week and now it’s time to let it loose. Oh yeah, the line in the chorus that goes “Can’t Touch The Ground” sounds exactly like “Can’t Just Sit Around” so I figured the particularly appropriate mondegreen would be an ideal title for this post. So without further delay please enjoy my latest video, Rain Down Love (alternate title: Campy Capers With Crappy Chroma Key).
