You Made The Cover, Darling
Back in August, after Greg and Johnny shot the photos for Wrong Side of the Tracks, Johnny made an entry about smiling for the first time during a shoot. It was a big deal. Chi Chi went nuts. “Use that one for his head shot - he has such a beautiful smile!” she exclaimed with her usual vigor.
Months later I found myself at the Adult Entertainment Expo directly across the aisle from the Channel 1 booth in a meeting with a German publisher. I was bored to tears and highly annoyed that Johnny and I had spent all of four minutes together the entire time I’d been in Vegas even though we were in sight of one another. Just as my eyes were about to roll back in my head, the publisher whipped out a stack of sample mags his company publishes. Right on top was the issue of Erexxxion Magazine with Johnny’s grinning face. I had no idea that shot had been used on a cover and I was so excited! (I am well known for my low excitement threshold)
Making every attempt to be discreet, I snatched the mag and turned to gesture to Johnny. He was talking quietly with Luca DiCorso. I was lucky to catch him during a moment where he wasn’t surrounded by blushing fans brandishing 8×10 glossies and fine tip Sharpies, but he didn’t see me right away. When I did catch his eye he saw the magazine and grinned sheepishly. I suspect that he knew about it all along. Sometimes Quite often little things like this manage to leak out of his brain before he has a chance to tell me. I miss out on things, but he’s getting MUCH better. All of the beatings and guilt tactics are finally taking effect!
