Its holistic approch to melody all encompasses its audience in a manner that makes virtually impossible to escape. The singer uses rhythm as a logical compliment to the melody to further ensnare the audience. Johnny, your description is right, haunting and wistful longing, can but describe this song!! Racked my brain 'til I came up with it. "The Collier Recruit" on the "Over The Hills & Far Away" CD from the Sharpe Series. Hauntingly beautiful. Her voice sticks in your heart & mind. Reminds me of Joni Mitchel, Judy Collins & Janis Ian from my youth. Lynda I knew I recognized her voice.
